First Rivers in PNG.

So we have landed here and fortunately met some locals that are willing to show us their local rivers. We began on the Middle Watut, a section that was previously rafted but abandoned after a group of Isrealis came to grief. This section was big volume, with some great IV+ - V boogy. The next day we were able to paddle the upper section of the Watut, a section that had never been ran before. There was a great class IV-V gorge by the village of Mangke. We also were able to sneak a late afternoon run down the Lower Lopogo, another first descent but more of a class III-IV run but would be great at flood levels.

Internet here in PNG is expensive and slow so there are no photos right now but we will try get some up in the next week or so... PNG time!

Cheers Barny, Shannon and Jordy
